From the President’s Desk – Feb 2017

Dear members

It has been a while since my last post. Trust every member has now started your hard work to meet the 2017 resolution.

We are celebrating the Better Hearing and Speech Month 2017 in less than 3 months! We are excited to announce that the theme of our celebration this year is "COMMUNICATION: THE LINK THAT EMPOWERS". In conjunction with this, the exco members would like to invite all members to participate in following activities as part of this celebration:

Thank you to Ngiow Jen Sen for heading this. This activity is aimed to provide continuous support to your clinical work through providing vouchers for your potential clients. It is a win-win initiative to MASH members and MASH; i.e. to enable members to advertise their services in MASH website for FREE, and in the same time to have more people visiting our website.

As in last year, here is how it would work:

1. Let us know if you are keen to provide discounted consultation sessions during BHS by 28 February 2017. Please feed us the details of the sessions i.e. date, time and total number of discounted sessions e.g. 30 spaces. You can feedback us by responding to this entry.

2.Email us the details of your centre/place including your logo at and cc to . We will put this up in MASH website together with the information above (#1).

3. We will prepare the RM20 voucher for your place. The clients must print the voucher and contact you for the appointment. The acceptance of the voucher is subject to the available slots.

We are currently working with Hanen to enable MASH members participate in the e-seminar at discounted rate during BHS Month. Keep your eyes for further updates on this.

We are currently working with Yayasan Wiba Prima to organize "Ride The Train Program". The initial meeting with the yayasan was held on 6 February 2017, attended by myself and our Honorary Secretary, Iffah Rashida,to firm up this partnership.

As an overview, this program is aimed to disseminate information on speech and hearing issues as well as to provide a platform for people with speech and hearing to integrate into society. It will involve getting them to take the LRT from Kelana Jaya to KL Sentral (and return) and enabling the public to engage with them at Nu Sentral. The program is aimed to take place on 10 May 2017.

To start the ball rolling, I would like to invite all members to volunteer yourselves in making this program a success by helping the registration process as well as running the program on the day itself. Please let me know if you are able to spare your time for this program by sending your personal message to me, together with your contact number.

We will keep you updated on this exciting project. Let's work together to make this program happen and create differences in our society!

Stay tune for further updates on all initiatives!
